I hope everyone is enjoying a nice cup off coffee or hot chocolate this morning :). I caught up on Nashville from this past week while sipping some coffee. Perfect combo. Gosh, I really LOVE that show. My Dad's work brought him to Nashville quite frequently throughout my teen years, so it has been really neat to see some of the places that I went to featured on the show! I also LOVE that there is a significant focus on the music aspect of the show with Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere actually singing the songs! In my opinion, the songwriting is pretty fantastic as well. I am also a huge Connie Britton fan, and I actually found out that she is a Boston Native!! All the smart ones come from Boston I think :).
Connie was in my all time favorite show, Friday Night Lights. She was also in last seasons American Horror Story. If you haven't seen Friday Night Lights , all the seasons are available on Netflix and I would HIGHLY recommend throwing away your life for a week or two and watching the entire series. I wish Dillon, Texas was actually a place because I would pick up and move there.
Tim Riggins (Taylor Kitsch) may have been one of the other reasons why I was frankly so obsessed with Friday Night Lights. I wonder if he lives in Dillon, TX? hmmm...Yum. Yum. Yum.
Yesterday was a pretty great day all in all.
Breakfast was an old favorite. Fiber One english muffin, topped with chia seed and a side of sliced orange. Mid morning my belly was grumblin' again so I snacked on half a nanner.
I met a friend for lunch on the upper west side at Nanoosh which is a Mediterranean hummus bar. Apparently there are a few of these throughout the city. I had a quinoa salad with chopped veggies, nuts, and craisins. It was pretty awesome.
Later in the day I took a Soul Cycle class.
It was a blast. I had never taken the instructor (Nina) before as she usually teaches in Tribeca on Sundays. Soul Cycle is a super challenging workout in my opinion, but depending on the instructor there can actually be a spiritual aspect to the ride (hence the name "soul" cycle). The instructors that are my fave are the ones that push you to work hard, but they also use the workout as an analogy for pushing yourself and getting what you want out of your life. I'm going to be honest, I had a hard time in the class yesterday for two reasons. Reason 1. I haven't been doing much cardio as of late, and therefore my endurance was severely lacking. Reason 2. I set up my bike seat wrong, and if any one has every done this, you know how painful this can make a class! I won't go any further on that one, but it didn't and still doesn't feel good! hahahah.
Last night was pretty chill. I went to dinner with a couple girlfriends. We went to an asian fusion restaurant, so I had a bunch of sushi and my friends enjoyed thai. We had some yummy food, good wine, and lots-0h- laughs! Alright, I'm going to have some brekkie, finish watching the Victoria's Secret Fashion show ( which PJ so kindly DVR'd -haha)and get on with my Saturday!
xo
